Mercedes-Benz CL-Class - C215 Series

In October of 1999 went into production the heir to the C125, the C215 Series and this model was completely new, both aesthetically and internally, because in those years, Mercedes-Benz redesigned the entire range of its cars, giving them a new look more rounded, modern and sporty. The engines

The cl-class 500 is equipped with a 4966 cc V8 engine that develops a power of 225 kW (306 hp) at 5600 rpm and a torque of 460 Nm to 100 km / h acceleration in 6.5 seconds, reaching the 250 km / h self-limited with a mass of 1790 kg and is equipped with an electronically controlled automatic transmission with the possibility of using sequential 5-speed. In 09/2002 is reviewed and adapted to the Euro 4 standards, and in 2003 was extended sequential 7-speed.

The cl-class 600 is instead equipped with a 5786 cc V12 develops a power of 270 kW (367 hp) at 5500 rpm and a torque of 530 Nm to 100 km / h acceleration in 6.1 seconds, reaching the 250 km / h self-limited with a mass of 1880 kg and is equipped with an electronically controlled automatic transmission with the possibility of using sequential 5-speed. In 09/2002 is reviewed and adapted to the Euro 4 standards.

In 2003, the cl-class 600 is equipped with a new V12 engine supercharged by two turbochargers (V12 Twin-Turbo) that delivers 368 kW (500 hp) at 5000 rpm and reaches the powerful torque of 800 Nm and accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 4.8 seconds while the mass increases to 2000 kg.

In June 2000 he was put on sale the first CL AMG, a CL 55 AMG F1 Limited Edition, which is produced only until November 2000, and for only 5 months, with a 5439 cc V8 engine that develops 265 kW (360 hp) at 5500 rpm, and thanks to a torque of 530 Nm to 100 km / h acceleration in 6.0 seconds, reaching 250 km / h self-limited, with a mass of 1790 kg.

Since November 2000, and then the CL 55 AMG F1 Limited Edition loses nomenclature F1 Limited Edition, to become, with exactly the same technical characteristics the CL 55 AMG.

In 2002 he was presented the CL 55 AMG Kompressor, with a supercharged V8 with 5439 cc and 368 kW (500 hp) at 6100 rpm and peak torque of 700 Nm to 100 km / h acceleration in 4.8 seconds, with a mass of 1920 kg.

In November of 2003 presents the most powerful of the CL, the CL 65 AMG, with a 5980 cc V12 with an output of 400 kW (612 hp) already available at 4,800 rpm thanks to turbocharging Twin-Turbo, to reach the pair of 1,000 Nm at just 2000 rpm thanks always Biturbo. Acceleration from 0-100 kph in 4.2 seconds. It is electronically governed to 250 km / h but the speedometer full scale at 360 km / h suggests the vast power of the CL 65 AMG.
