The Mazda 6 sedan is a car produced by Japanese automaker Mazda since 2002. Sold as Mazda Atenza in Asian markets the car has replaced the Mazda 626. Is currently in its second generation.
Early homonymous concept car shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2001, the Mazda 6 the following year by introducing a new design philosophy that will characterize all the models that will debut later as the 3 and 5. Built on the platform of the Ford Mondeo second set configured as a quadrilateral front suspension uses high deformable while the rear suspension with coil springs found in the classic Multilink multiple arms. The qualities of a good standard road, are guaranteed by the presence of a braking system with four ventilated disc brakes and the presence of stability control, traction and the ABS.
The body with four-door sedan was the most popular in Asian markets and U.S. while in Europe and especially in Italy, the estate version has enjoyed a great commercial success thanks to the remarkable interior space and flexible interior. Markets in Australia and northern Europe has been marketed enjoying commercial success with the saloon version of the hatchback (Mazda 6 Sport Tourer).
The outstanding reliability of the model and the sporty design have contributed to the spread of the Mazda brand in Europe. Regarding the safety car the car was subjected to twice totaling EuroNCAP crash test, in both 2003 and in 2005 the overall score of 4 stars.
