The Maserati 107, better known under the trade name of Maserati Quattroporte is a sports sedan produced by Maserati between 1963 and 1970.

In the early sixties the offer of a performance sedan was reduced to a few models produced by Lancia,Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz.
The optimism created by the strong economic recovery suggest a rapidly developing market of luxury cars, also confirmed by the sustained sales of "super sport" that saw the houses excel Italian Ferrari and Maserati.

Based on these estimates and inspired by an idea of sports journalist Gino Alberts, the leadership of Maserati, the time taken by the Orsi family, decided to also consider the construction of a high-performance sedan, and novelty on particular characteristics plucky, thus giving rise to the concept of "sports sedan" that, in the immediate future, would have huge following and success.

The car was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in autumn of 1963, experiencing a resounding success. The sleek, impressive size, luxurious finish, the sophisticated engineering and the remarkable performance of the Maserati Quattroporte made it a sudden object of desire for the more affluent social class.

The success caught unprepared for the leadership he had given Maserati during the project "107" as a work of image and, wisely, had set up the production line to build a single copy per day.

Despite the astronomical price of 6,230,000 lire road, that is the cost of 13 Fiat 500, the Jetsetters vied to grab the car. Among politicians, Rainier of Monaco and the Aga Khan, who even bought two, and the secretary of the CPSU Leonid Brezhnev, which was donated by the management of the PCI in 1968.

In addition to the business world, well represented by Raoul Gardini, had particular success in the world of sport and entertainment. Many buyers known as Nino Benvenuti, Nils Liedholm, Carlo Bergonzi, Sergio Leone, Marcello Mastroianni, Virna Lisi, Peter Ustinov, who never wanted to withdraw from its original color vision, leading him personally also in recent years. Alberto Sordi, just not to belie his reputation as the "economy" and it is impossible to obtain a discount, he agreed with Omer Orsi for convenient payment by installment. Recently, the model 1965 of Alberto Sordi was recovered and fully restored by the Orsi family.
