Lingenfelter Pontiac 455 T/A: First Live Photos of 2010 Camaro-Based SEMA Show Concept

These are the first real life shots of lingeenfelter's 455 T/A concept Lingenfelter' that is set to make its world premiere in the metal at this week's 2009 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Lingenfelter joins an emerging group of tuners such as Trans Am Depot that are testing the waters for a modern-day Pontiac Trans Am conversion kit based on the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. That said, if there's enough interest generated from the concept car, Lingenfelter will go ahead and offer the completed vehicle (or the kit) for sale.

Lingenfelter's proposal that harkens back to the 1970s original Trans Am adds several new body parts to the Camaro such as a new fascia with custom headlights, grille and turn signals and a newly styled hood with a shaker scoop and blue keyed stripe.

At the back, the rear corners of the car have been extended nearly 4-inches with a wrapped down stand-up spoiler while there's also a new rear fascia with custom-made taillight housings. The front fender air outlets and the 20-inch Honeycomb design alloy wheels with Nitto Tires in size 275/40ZR20 at the front and 315/35ZR20 at the back, complete the exterior package. .

Inside, Lingenfelter said that it has upgraded the Camaro's cabin with bright blue woven vinyl seat inserts and metal turned instrument panel accents.

Power-wise, as its name suggests, the 455 T/A is fitted with an aluminum 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 engine with a 11.5:1 compression ratio, CNC ported and polished LS7 heads, and an LSX FAST 102 intake finish, for an overall output of 655 hp and 610 ft.-lbs. of torque.

Other upgrades include a 6-bolt LS9 twin disk flywheel and clutch assembly, a custom-made stainless steel exhaust from Corsa and heavy-duty Driveshaft Shop halfshafts.

Maserati GranTurismo S

While the Maserati GranTurismo, as well as points on a line and a spirited 405 hp engine, bit much on the comfort, the Maserati with this new enhanced model of the GranTurismo will only focus on sportsmanship, while maintaining the luxurious interiors and refined the model less powerful .

The Maserati GranTurismo S is in fact an improved version of the GranTurismo: This new version mounts a 4.7-liter V8 engine 440cv (same as the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione) changed electro-actuated MC-Shift Transaxle, the braking system is Brembo dual-cast in cast iron and aluminum with 6-piston calipers. The benefits are claimed 4.9 seconds to get to 100km / h from standstill, a top speed of 295 km / h, a time 100 milliseconds to shift gears and an area arrest of 35 meters from a speed of 100 km / h . The external appearance was virtually unchanged except for some small device like a boot lid to simulate a more pronounced alettoncino, the skirts, the unique design of 20 "wheels as standard, and new tailpipes featuring flattened and elongated shape (2 wide and flat instead of round section 4 of the GranTurismo "normal"). Special features of the discharges is that by pressing "sport" you open the bypass exhaust that raise the power output and the "sound" of the car already very aggressive in another version "S". The interior has been revised in the model "S" of the GranTurismo predonima Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara (leather Poltrona Frau Also standard in the "normal"). The Maserati Granturismo S has been officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008 and is on sale from March 4, 2008.

Peugeot and Citroen to Rebadge Mitsubishi's ASX / RVR, Sales Start in 2012

Japan's Mitsubishi Motors and France's PSA Peugeot- Citroën are deepening their industrial ties in Europe by announcing yet another collaborative project, this time regarding Mitsubishi's ASX compact SUV.

Under the agreement, Mitsubishi will supply its new ASX crossover (named RVR in Japan) to the PSA group that will make two visually different vehicles for its Citroën and Peugeot brands with sales set to begin in early 2012.

The French variants of the ASX will be available in both four- and two-wheel drive versions, and will use PSA's 1.6 HDi diesel engine with the company claiming that the 2WD model will return less than 4.7lt/100km.

The projected volume for Peugeot and Citroën will reach 50,000 units per year for both brands.

This is the fourth consecutive project between the PSA Group and Mitshubishi, after the Mitsubishi Outlander, Peugeot 4007 and Citroën C-Crosser SUV agreement in 2005, the construction of a joint plant in Russia that has just been inaugurated, and the European launch in late 2010 of the Peugeot iOn and Citroën C-zero electric vehicles, based on MMC's Japanese i-MiEV model.

Maserati Quattroporte (1974)

http://www.maserati-indy.co.uk/quattroporte/qp2-001a.jpg

The second set of Maserati Quattroporte is produced from 1974 to 1975 by the Italian carmaker Maserati at the time of the acquisition by the French group Citroën. It was the first and only Maserati with front-wheel drive.

The Quattroporte is also called simply the 1974 Maserati Quattroporte II and comes from the Project AM 123. Its world premiere October 3, 1974 at the Paris Motor Show as a concept car, the car leaves the stylistic canons which characterize the first round of the 1963 Quattroporte, which is a very classic and elegant line that are heavily chrome and a large front dominated by the classic grille of the Trident, to take the lines much more sober and straight, in vogue in the early '70s. The design was the work of the Centro Stile Bertone at the request of the Citroën developed a line characterized by simple straight lines and parallel to the side very clean, had the classic Maserati brand set up on the post back on airfoils. The front instead exposes a mask that separates the small lights, which is also very compact and most developed horizontally. Frames and chrome trim make the whole remarkably elegant though less original than before, oddly, has forced large windscreen wipers to apply three small dimensions in order to ensure optimal visibility. The rear, however, has a style all too easy with a few lights and a chrome rectangular lower bumper unpainted and a large tailgate that houses a spacious and flexible luggage area considerably, although the rear bench seat does not present the possibility of rollover.

For the Quattroporte II had taken the house Citroën 205x70 R15 tires with chrome rims that do not completely typical holes suitable to cool the brake system. The style of hoops is similar to models of large sedans produced by the French as the DS. Only the specimens prepared from 1975 to 1978 have alloy wheels drilled by drawing more sporty. The classic brand identification Bertone was applied on the front fenders in plain sight.

Technical specifications

The model was designed by engineers of the Citroen, but because of scarce financial resources of the French group, with the Quattroporte II were applied shares many techniques with the high range of the French company. In particular, was adopted as the basic frame a new floor with the engine positioned longitudinally in the front and shifts the torque to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. Sharing components with the Citroën SM model, besides the mechanical pattern relates to the hydropneumatic that guaranteed greater comfort especially on long trips, hydraulic power steering that hardened steering at high speed, servo-assisted braking and the planting of electronic climate control with front and rear speakers.

The mechanical department ended with the refined geometry independent suspension with front and rear configured as outlined in multiple arms. The braking system was composed of four ventilated disc brakes ensuring a full load of 100 to 0 km / h recorded in less than 40 meters.

Engine

The adoption was a 3.0-liter engine. Already in 1968 Giulio Alfieri had to study a V6 gasoline engine and big V8 derived from the Maserati of 2 cylinders. The result was the 2.7 V6 in the C114 family which was sold to Citroen and found lodging in the boot of MS (sister of the Quattroporte II). The C114 underwent an evolution, through an increase in the diameter of the cylinder 87.0 mm to 91.6 mm, the engine capacity grew to 2965 cc and power went up to 210 horsepower delivered at 6,000 revolutions per minute [1]. The new 3.0 engine went immediately into the hoods of Merak and Maserati Quattroporte II grants to the first performance of all respect and for the large performance sedan only modest, particularly penalized by the large size of the car, the front-wheel drive and the great weight of the chassis structure .

The 6-cylinder 90 ° V with Weber 44 carburetor DCNF owned the single point injection and paid the maximum torque at high revs. The compression ratio was 8.8:1. According to Citroën engineers had not been possible to accommodate the large cylinder V-8 engine that equips the previous set of understeer due to the Quattroporte was produced.

Production

Shortly after the presentation, was passed the prototype stage by starting the construction of a small contingent of Pre-series, intended for the hype and tests for approval. The Quattroporte II not reached the production stage, both for development problems to the body, either because it was deemed unprofitable by Peugeot, which in 1974 took control of the Citroen, facing serious financial difficulties.

The Quattroporte II saw even before the birth of a dark fate: the reliable production of the Citroën officially ended in early 1975 after only 13 specimens left the assembly line. Of these, 6 were built according to standards set by the French, while the remaining 7 were later completed and tested between 1975 and 1978 by the new ownership De Tomaso. To date, it is estimated that only 5 of 13 examples of the Quattroporte II are existing

Opel Corsa OPC: Nürburgring Edition Spy Shots

Here are some spy shots of what is believed to be the Opel Corsa OPC Nürburgring Edition special.

Based on the standard OPC, this should basically be the Corsa version of the Astra-based 2008 Nürburgring Edition model. That means it'll most likely come with the standard Corsa OPC's 192-horsepower (141 kW) / 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) turbocharged 1.6 liter mill and extra add-ons.

Other baubles to expect are upgraded Brembo brakes, Recaro leather seating, carbon-look decor for the interior, unique lightweight wheels, and maybe even a tuned suspension.

The front appears to get a new lip spoiler and the rear valence some big exhaust tips pushed to the sides (instead of the standard version's center piece).

Throw on some fancy graphics to break up all that yellow and it'll be a cute little racer.

Oettinger Audi TT 2.0 TFSI 235 & 350Hp

Following its Essen Show debut, German tuner Oettinger released more info and pics on its supped up Audi TT 2.0TFSi. Along with a tasteful and sleek bodykit that can be combined with 19, 20 or 22’’ rims, Oettinger offers two engine upgrades for the 2.0 TFSI boosting power up to 235 & 350 Hp respectively. The latter accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 sec and achieves a top speed of about 270 km/h.

PRESS RELEASE: As opposed to many others, at OETTINGER's in Friedrichsdorf they have not succumbed to the temptation of over-loading the new development of the Audi design star by adding the usual pretentious add-ons with air intakes widely ajar and huge spoiler-works supposed to enhance the impression of sportive power. Far from it, the people in Friedrichsdorf have restricted themselves to two modest prolongations of the front skirt together with a simple carbon splitter, and lateral sillboards, which rarely ever have so perfectly taken up the line of an Audi. At the stern they content themselves with a rear-skirt insert forming a perfect frame for the (up to 4, if required) rear exhaust pipes of the OETTINGER stainless-steel exhaust systems. In short: The traditional specialists' aerodynamic package combines a sportive character with unequalled elegance and perfect style.

Particularly from the rear-view mirror the TT's impression has become much more awe-inspiring through the forward-facing new design. And there is really something behind: Several new aspects of increased performance are responsible that the motor keeps the promise made by the appearance.

The 2.0 T-FSI is upgraded to 235 HP and a torque of 280 lb ft. As usual, also in the course of this development the driving characteristics and a broadly applicable torque were much more important within the specifications than the nominal performance output. Other tuners may play games – OETTINGER stands for true performance.

For those who demand higher performance, the tuning specialist from Hesse offers another impressive kit for the 2.0 T-FSI: Thanks to the new motor mapping, the modified fuel-injection pump, adapted FSI injection nozzles, an enhanced charge-air cooler, and the larger OETTINGER charger – all these together serve to elicit 350 HP and 347 lb ft from the aggregate. The mirror-finished stainless-steel exhaust system with its sports-catalytic converter has its share, of course, just as the new reinforced clutch system and driving disk. Summing up: A valuation of the OETTINGER TT has the following most important figures to show: Acceleration 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and a top speed of about 270 km/h!

An especially adapted stainless-steel threaded gear performs the perfect grip of the new wheel-/tyre combination: The new OETTINGER Type RXX wheel, which celebrated its world premiere mounted on the new OETTINGER-TT in its 20"-version, fitted with the new types: VA 245/30/20 and HA 245/30/20 will also be shown for the first time at the Essen Motor Show (the versions 19" and 22" will follow).

Maserati Quattroporte (1963)

http://www2.uol.com.br/bestcars/carros/outros2/maserati/quattroporte-1963-1.jpg

The Maserati 107, better known under the trade name of Maserati Quattroporte is a sports sedan produced by Maserati between 1963 and 1970.

In the early sixties the offer of a performance sedan was reduced to a few models produced by Lancia,Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz.
The optimism created by the strong economic recovery suggest a rapidly developing market of luxury cars, also confirmed by the sustained sales of "super sport" that saw the houses excel Italian Ferrari and Maserati.

Based on these estimates and inspired by an idea of sports journalist Gino Alberts, the leadership of Maserati, the time taken by the Orsi family, decided to also consider the construction of a high-performance sedan, and novelty on particular characteristics plucky, thus giving rise to the concept of "sports sedan" that, in the immediate future, would have huge following and success.

The car was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in autumn of 1963, experiencing a resounding success. The sleek, impressive size, luxurious finish, the sophisticated engineering and the remarkable performance of the Maserati Quattroporte made it a sudden object of desire for the more affluent social class.

The success caught unprepared for the leadership he had given Maserati during the project "107" as a work of image and, wisely, had set up the production line to build a single copy per day.

Despite the astronomical price of 6,230,000 lire road, that is the cost of 13 Fiat 500, the Jetsetters vied to grab the car. Among politicians, Rainier of Monaco and the Aga Khan, who even bought two, and the secretary of the CPSU Leonid Brezhnev, which was donated by the management of the PCI in 1968.

In addition to the business world, well represented by Raoul Gardini, had particular success in the world of sport and entertainment. Many buyers known as Nino Benvenuti, Nils Liedholm, Carlo Bergonzi, Sergio Leone, Marcello Mastroianni, Virna Lisi, Peter Ustinov, who never wanted to withdraw from its original color vision, leading him personally also in recent years. Alberto Sordi, just not to belie his reputation as the "economy" and it is impossible to obtain a discount, he agreed with Omer Orsi for convenient payment by installment. Recently, the model 1965 of Alberto Sordi was recovered and fully restored by the Orsi family.
