There is a design study for a supercar concept named after the ancient Greek city of Cnossus (Knossus) on the island of Crete. The designers claim to have been inspired by the Lamborghini Countach, though it is evident that the edgy styling of the limited production Reventon special also played a role in the design of the Cnossus Concept. How do you think of this concept car? Is it proper?

It seems that many young designers from the Lamborghini race car design to create the best future. Here comes yet another proposal for a Raging Bull model, this time from American Adam Denning who happens to be a designer for Lockheed Martin USA. The Navarra is design study for a flagship Lamborghini supercar to replace the current Murcielago model.

Adam Denning plan to put all the V12 flagships of the brand from the Miura to the Murcielago. He says that the Navarra would make use of a carbon-fiber frame and carbon-fiber panels with power coming from a V12 engine. So just look forward presence Lamborghini Navarra Concept becomes reality.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition is result of Lamborghini and Blancpain are uniting their phenomenal engineering skill and honoring the huge success of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing series with a very special super sports car.

Blancpain was recently voted the “Best of the Best” among the world’s most exquisite watch brands by the “Luxury Institute” in New York. Blancpain has been producing innovative masterpieces of watch-making art in Switzerland’s VallĂ©e de Joux since 1735.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition shows the spirit of competition – the mighty rear spoiler for maximum stability and the engine cover for optimized ventilation were derived directly from the race car featured in the world’s fastest one-make series.

The Edition is also equipped with Skorpius wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers and discs made, of course, from carbon-ceramic composite. One striking visual feature that fits perfectly with the matt black paintwork is the carbon-fiber used to make external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings.

The entire interior is finished in black Alcantara with yellow accents and visible carbon-fiber. The Blancpain logo is placed on the exterior and also featured on the seats and cockpit in yellow stitching. Propulsion for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition comes courtesy of the 570 hp V10 power unit from the series Superleggera production car.

The car’s performance is thus enhanced thanks to a better power-to-weight ratio and reduced total mass, which means that CO2 emissions are also lower.

The V10 power unit with 5.2 liters (317.6 cu in) of displacement generates 419 kW (570 hp) in the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition. This puts the power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle at only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp and guarantees breathtaking performance. This super sports car handles the dash from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and flies past the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 6.8 seconds later, ultimately exceeding 320 km/h (199 mph).

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept it is powered by the Gallardo Superleggera’s 5.2-liter V10 and has an overall curb weight of just 999 kilograms (2,202 lb). With its amazing output of 570 hp, sensational power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per hp and 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of only 2.5 seconds. At the same time, fuel consumption also drops because of the extreme lightweight engineering applied throughout.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante after reducing the weight by 65 kg (143 lbs) and, this way, improving the Spyder’s performance. It achieved this by replacing numerous parts with carbon fiber components, both in the cabin and on the body. Those obsessed with numbers should know that 40% of the weight savings can be traced back to the exotic composite.

Include the body shell is a spaceframe structure, made from aluminum, another material that goes easy on the scales, while being extremely strong. Making this setup even better was a huge task, but, thanks to the aforementioned carbon fiber parts, in the end, engineers pulled it off.

Using the soft-top, engine and transmission, and also for parts of the bodykit, like the rear spoiler, diffuser and mirror casings. Furthermore, the center tunnel cover is also made from carbon fiber, as are the door panels and the sport seats’ shell. And the end result is total weight of 1,485 kg (3,275 lbs).

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante’s engine use 5.2-liter V10 unit, delivering an output of 570 hp at 8,000 rpm and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels through an automated e-gear six-speed transmission, which means that you’ll seldom run out of grip. A six-speed manual is offered as well, at no additional cost.

Lamborghini engineers didn’t mess around and used a running gear directly derived from motorsport, featuring a high-tech aluminum double wishbone setup. f you really want to, you can reach a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph), but keep in mind that your hairdo might suffer some dire consequences.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante runs on 19-inch super-lightweight rims with titanium bearings and bolts and shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The Italian maker says that this way it saved another 13 kg or 29 lbs. And it still comes with air conditioning and electric windows as standard.

The Range Rover Sport hybrid prototype shown here is named Range_e. The Land Rover Range_e is powered the diesel-electric hybrid power/drive. Land Rover will be putting its first dedicated hybrid model into production in 2013. If successful, expect a plug-in circa 2015 that would return 20 miles or about 32 kilometers of city driving under electric power.

Now, Land Rover is focus on Range_e to diesel-electric setup. Transmission duties for the Range_e will be handled by a ZF 8-Speed automatic, while extensive use of aluminum and other lightweight materials should help keep all upcoming Rovers’ weight issues in check.

But engineers say that a gasoline hybrid is also under developed. After all, we here in the States don’t get diesel Rovers (for the life of me I don’t know why).
